The Challenge
(01)
Nexford University needed a 60-second brand film to launch their NextGen Africa Fellowship.
NextGen Africa Fellowship is a program designed to empower a new generation of African innovators. The video had to communicate a complex, emotionally charged narrative across multiple audiences: prospective fellows, institutional partners, and investors. It needed to feel cinematic, culturally authentic, and aspirational — all within an aggressive timeline and budget that would have been impossible through traditional production.

The Approach
(02)
Ten16 developed three distinct creative concepts, each built around a core emotional arc: frustration, movement, and aspiration.
The selected direction — "The Two Futures" — contrasts the future that was promised with the future being built by African innovators, positioning the Nexford Fellowship as the turning point. We wrote the full script, designed a detailed 8-scene storyboard with AI-generated reference frames, and produced the final film entirely through our AI-integrated production workflow — from scene generation and color grading to sound design and voiceover.

The Result
(03)
A polished, cinematic 60-second brand film delivered in under two weeks.
a project that would have traditionally required a full production crew, location shoots across multiple countries, and a budget of $200,000 or more. The final product moves from quiet contemplation to unstoppable momentum, closing with Nexford's message: "Lead Locally. Compete Globally."
